The Kyoto Protocol and the United States
Yesterday on the news there was an insert about the Kyoto Protocol, which again has not been ratified by the United States, the world’s biggest producers of greenhouse gas - the reason being given that it would affect the US economy to take measures to limit these harmful emissions. The mind boggles that at this time in Earth history economics is being placed in importance above the ultimate survival of the human species. Don’t they realise that in time if the greenhouse problem escalates there could be no economy to worry about!
